Maldini weighs in on Mastantuono's World Cup debut: 'We've already seen it'
Maldini spoke about Mastantuono and his first match with Real Madrid
Yesterday, everyone was focused on Mastantuono's match with River Plate because it was his debut in the World Cup. It was his first match after his signing with Real Madrid was confirmed, and everyone was expectant. The Argentine didn't play his best match, but he showed several moments of quality and was involved in a goal.
"I think Mastantuono didn't have a brilliant match. But even though he didn't, you could see the type of player he is and the personality he has. I insist, he didn't have a brilliant match, but he didn't have a bad match either," Maldini began saying on his Youtube channel.
"We've already seen what his natural position is. He can come quite a bit into midfield to receive, he did so at several moments, but he needs freedom to move in the final third (3/4 of the field). The play he made in the first goal is a classic Mastantuono play," the Argentine continued saying.

Much is expected of him
Mastantuono is a footballer who turns 18 on August 14 and still has a huge margin for improvement. It's not wise to judge his career now based on just a few minutes; instead, his progression should be analyzed. When he plays for Real Madrid, it'll be easier for him because he'll be surrounded by high-level players.
Maybe some are judging him too hastily, as if Madrid were signing an established star. He's still very young, but it's true that he's a big bet for Madrid, because they're paying €60 million for him.

The opportunity of his life
Franco Mastantuono has always dreamed of having the chance to play for Real Madrid. The Madrid club is his team and he's spent many years trying to get them to bet on him. Especially his agent, who has sometimes caused conflicts with the white club, but in the end it was possible to solve them.
At the Madrid club, they're sure Mastantuono will end up being one of the best footballers in the world. It's just a matter of time before he breaks out, and at Madrid he won't have problems, because Xabi will give him enough opportunities.
