Marc Crosas Reveals Why Barça Always 'Wins,' It's Surreal: 'For a Culé...'

The Former FC Barcelona Player Tries to Discredit Real Madrid's Successes

The Copa del Rey Final Will Face, for the Third Time This Season, Real Madrid Against FC Barcelona. As is usually the case in the days leading up to a Clásico, multiple figures from both teams have come out to defend the interests of the two best squads in our country. One of the latest to do so, while also attacking Real Madrid, is the former player Marc Crosas.

This former Mexican-Catalan footballer has published a curious message on his social media, on the occasion of this matchup in the Copa del Rey final, which has multiple competitive readings. The first is the number of Spanish footballers in the starting line-ups of both teams, given that FC Barcelona would have the advantage in that statistic.

"The day you play for the League, you do it with Olmo, Ansu, Eric, Fort, Gavi, Fermín, Lamine, Gerard, Pau... 9 homegrown players out of 16. Others do it with only 1 Spaniard in the 11", wrote Marc Crosas on his personal X account, a message in which he recalled Real Madrid's continental successes. In his opinion, the white club "will continue winning more Champions than anyone else" but will not awaken any positive feelings nor excite the spectators and followers of world soccer.

In contrast, "Barça will do it occasionally, raising the admiration of the world, and that for the culé has an incalculable value. Inexplicable, perhaps", notes Marc Crosas in his controversial interpretation of the situation. With that discourse from the former FC Barcelona youth player, many of the failures experienced by the blue and red squad in the Champions League can be justified.

Incredible Justification

Specifically, the squad now coached by Hansi Flick has gone a decade without reaching a European Cup semifinal. During that same period, Real Madrid lifted up to six European titles, proving that it was one of the best generations of footballers in the club's entire history. Despite that optimism, Marc Crosas makes it clear that the journey so far has been worth it.

Even if the desired treble is not achieved, a feat that also hasn't been realized for FC Barcelona in ten years. "Whatever happens over the next 32 days, thank you Presi @JoanLaportaFCB for making us feel this again", concludes Marc Crosas on his social media.

With those words, Marc Crosas tries to find an explanation for FC Barcelona's constant debacles in the Champions League, downplaying the sporting achievements of the white club. Especially because the European Cup is the competition that attracts the most attention... and can either sentence or grant great fame to the clubs participating in that tournament.

Be that as it may, these words from Marc Crosas continue to increase the tension ahead of a truly important final in more than one sense. Both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are playing for much more than a title: the blue and red entity puts on the line the possibility of making a soothing treble a reality... while Carlo Ancelotti knows this could be his last match with Real Madrid in case of defeat.
