Mario Cortegana Surprises by Revealing the Future of Arda Güler and Endrick: 'cases...'

The journalist from 'The Athletic' clarifies the situation both footballers are in

Carlo Ancelotti has sparked an important debate this season about the position of young talents at Real Madrid like Arda Güler and Endrick. Neither of these two players has enjoyed the minutes many anticipated, making the rumors about their departure from Santiago Bernabéu locker room increasingly common.

In light of these doubts, Mario Cortegana has revealed the situation both players might be facing in the coming seasons. The journalist from "The Athletic" recalls that Real Madrid "will review it in the summer"... although Arda Güler's situation is surprising due to the firmness with which it is discussed.

"If you ask now, they'll probably tell you he wants to leave tomorrow because, of course, there are many matches without playing...", notes Mario Cortegana. Despite everything, Carlo Ancelotti is expected to give him minutes in the Copa del Rey: "I was suggested yesterday that he will play against Real" to prevent his "soap opera" from worsening over time. "Let's see if that helps" to ease the tension the Turkish '15' is experiencing due to his lack of minutes.

Meanwhile, Mario Cortegana points out that "if Endrick doesn't play, then Endrick will be talked about at that moment". For now, the journalist from "The Athletic" recalls that Arda Güler is starting to demand more vehemently an expanded share of minutes... which Carlo Ancelotti doesn't seem willing to grant at the moment.

Opposite Situations

"With Endrick, there is indeed a plan for both parties to sit down and analyze the situation in the summer. I don't think either of them will leave", concludes Mario Cortegana. Although both are young talents, the journalist recalls that "they are very different cases" because "Endrick is in his first year".

With the verdeamarelo striker, "they have done a lot of awareness work" to prevent him from getting discouraged. Real Madrid takes advantage of this "advantage", because "it has cases of all kinds, for all positions and for all young players" like Fede Valverde, Vinícius, and Rodrygo Goes.

The '16' merengue 'case' is even more complicated than it seems because the big "problem", warns Cortegana, "is the 2026 World Cup". The journalist from "The Athletic" points out that the carioca striker "has lost his place", going from discussions about starting positions to being left out of international break drafts.

In any case, both footballers have pending conversations with Real Madrid to decide their futures for the coming seasons. The executives led by Florentino Pérez, as well as Carlo Ancelotti's coaching staff, will need to review their strategies if they don't want to lose these two young talents permanently.
