Mastantuono or Lamine Yamal, José Luis Sánchez's answer that will spark controversy

The signing of Mastantuono and the comparison with Lamine have been denied by José Luis Sánchez, who clarifies everything

On El Chiringuito de Jugones, they always discuss a significant number of topics regarding current Spanish soccer, although mainly about Barça and Real Madrid. Regarding this, once again, the conversation has erupted between these two rival clubs and, now, about their players. With this in mind, José Luis Sánchez, journalist and Madridist, is quite clear about something that's been widely discussed on both culé and merengue social media.

We're referring to the supposed "boost" that Lamine Yamal has given Madrid, supposedly "forcing" the white club to sign a 17-year-old player. The aim is to counter the narrative of the culé youth product and Real Madrid copying Barça, but José doesn't see it that way. "Mastantuono's signing has nothing to do with Lamine Yamal's emergence at Barcelona," are the Madridist's forceful words.

This is strongly reinforced by the fact that Florentino Pérez and his team have been constantly negotiating with River Plate about signing this player. With several months in advance, or even more than a year, things don't add up with the culé narrative.

It has nothing to do

Mastantuono's signing has been in the works for several months and now, with the season over and the Club World Cup around the corner, it has been strongly reactivated. For this reason, many Barcelona fans who aren't aware of anything outside their club have become convinced of this idea.

While Lamine has been a very strong boost for a Barcelona in need of a star after Lionel Messi's departure in 2021, that's not the case for Madrid. With established names like Bellingham, Vinicius and Mbappé, Mastantuono is joining the project.

The narrative returns with force

What is clear is that a good season for the culés immediately starts once again with an absolutely ridiculous and baseless narrative. This benefits the merengues who now, with a new project growing, aim to leave the culés once again in the dust.

Unless their own board, with its senseless contracts, sinks them on their own again.
