Medical tests and a Galáctico say goodbye to Real Madrid, it will be official on Friday

The imminent transfer with which Real Madrid has said goodbye to one of its main interests for this market

Throughout the season, Real Madrid focused on analyzing several players to determine their potential signings. While some deals were finalized, others drifted away as the months went by.  One of the most notable cases was Florian Wirtz, whose signing was ruled out by Real Madrid after learning his value.

Given Bayer Leverkusen's high financial demands, Real Madrid wasn't willing to pay the requested amount. This situation was quickly taken advantage of by Liverpool to reach an agreement with the player. Although his transfer hasn't been finalized, Wirtz will undergo medical tests this Friday.

This event makes it clear that, after several months of rumors, Florian Wirtz is finally about to confirm the club where he'll continue his career. For a fee of £100 million (100 million pounds) plus an additional £16 million (16 million pounds), Wirtz will sign with Liverpool until 2030.

The star that couldn't be for Real Madrid

Having been part of Bayer Leverkusen since 2020, Florian Wirtz focused on growing as a player. Arriving as a relatively unknown figure, Wirtz quickly became Bayer's biggest star. Under Xabi Alonso's leadership, Wirtz showed all his talent, achieving 16 goals and 15 assists throughout the season as proof of this.

Although, with Xabi's arrival at Real Madrid, speculation began about Wirtz's signing, this wasn't possible for the club. Liverpool, which also kept a strong interest in the young German, agreed to Bayer's demands to finalize this transfer.

Spending more than €100 million (100 million euros), Liverpool is close to securing the services of a great player. Even though Real Madrid could've tried to interfere in this deal, the excessive value was one of the reasons why nothing ultimately happened.

Real Madrid's farewell

Although he could've been part of the best club in the world, Florian Wirtz made the decision to become a new Liverpool player. This decision, above all, makes it clear that Wirtz never considered that he had what it takes to be part of Real Madrid.
