The most sought-after footballer in Real Madrid after the World Cup: Gonzalo isn't the only one

The youth academy product has attracted attention, but the offers are coming in for another Madridist

Gonzalo has been the great revelation of the Club World Cup after managing to impress everyone with his performance. He ended up as the tournament's Golden Boot with 4 goals and 1 assist, which earned him the award. He also made it into the best eleven, showing that he hasn't gone unnoticed after his performances.

However, he hasn't been the only one who has left a very good impression at Real Madrid in recent days. Fran García has also performed very well and Defensa Central has been able to confirm the interest he has sparked. In fact, there are several clubs that've shown their willingness to sign him.

He arrived at the World Cup with his future hanging in the air, but he has been a regular starter in every match. Mendy's injury and the fact that Álvaro Carrera didn't end up signing gave him a clear path. He has taken advantage of it by showing Xabi Alonso what he can bring to his tactical plans at Real Madrid.

To such an extent that against Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinals, he played an outstanding match and even scored a goal. He ended up as the MVP of the match for his constant runs forward and the danger he created down the flank. This is something Xabi likes a lot and valued positively as he thinks about next season.

His future hanging in the air and a decision must be made

Fran García has shown Xabi Alonso that he can be an important piece in his tactical plans this season. However, Real Madrid has already officially announced the signing of Álvaro Carreras. This adds more competition to a left-back position that is starting to become overcrowded.

Álvaro just arrived and Ferland Mendy, who has announced that he doesn't intend to leave. The Frenchman has a valid contract after renewing it last summer. This makes it difficult for him to leave this transfer window, even though that was the club's initial intention.

This leaves Fran in a complicated situation, as his performance has earned him the right to stay. Xabi also believes that his profile fits better with his tactical plans, as he is looking for an attacking wing-back. They could take advantage of one of the offers to ease the congestion in the position.
