Mourinho Reveals Which Transfer He was Most Proud of for Real Madrid

One of the most remembered coaches in Real Madrid's history is José Mourinho. The Portuguese coach was key to the resurgence of a team that currently dominates all of Europe. To achieve this, the coach made a transfer he has described as his great pride.

"Luka Modric is the soccer beauty" were his praises for the Croatian legend. "He's my pride because I brought him to Real Madrid when no one believed he was a player for Real Madrid..." he added. Through these words, Mourinho made it clear that his greatest success as a coach was trusting a player who became a legend. 

"...After 12, 13, 14 years, he's still here," Mourinho concluded about the successful career Modric has had as a Meringue. The Croatian, since his arrival, has been key in each and every one of the club's successes. 

Mourinho's pride

Having been part of Real Madrid since 2012, Modric is a consolidated legend of the team. At 39 years old, the Croatian continues to perform at an excellent level that has led the club to achieve important victories. Playing more than 500 games with the team, the player never tires of proving that Mourinho was right to trust him.

The Portuguese coach's words demonstrate how important Modric still is to him. Playing at Tottenham before his arrival at Valdebebas, no one expected the Croatian to remain at the club for more than 10 seasons.

This has shown that, first, the great level Modric has always had seems unaffected by age. The second evidence is that, despite several years since his departure, Mourinho's influence on the team remains present.
