Official: Madrid Closes the Transfer of a Central Defender and Calafat Approves

It's already official that a central defender will join Real Madrid in January

Real Madrid faced a winter transfer market where they were going to be very alert to several moves. It's true that transfering players had been ruled out, at least for the first team. However, there were several names on the table that they weren't going to lose sight of.

One of them was Leganés' central defender, Lamini Fati, who was in the lower categories of the Cucumber team. However, they've reached an agreement for his transfer to Real Madrid. This way, he will join La Fábrica with good future prospects.

Juni Calafat has been closely following him, as he had been at Leganés for many years. At 18 years old, he considers him to be a very noteworthy alternative. He sees him with enough potential to integrate into the first team's dynamics soon.

"The blue-and-white academy player will leave the pepinero discipline to continue his career with the white team," reported Leganés. His arrival at Real Madrid has therefore already been made official. A transfer, likely for Castilla, but with the thought that he could make the leap soon.

The youth academy is starting to make a strong call at Real Madrid

The debate about the use of the youth academy has resurfaced these days at Real Madrid. It's one of the major criticisms directed at Ancelotti, that he should use the lower categories more. Although the truth is that he has several in his sights, especially for defense.

During the tour in the United States, we saw it with Joan Martínez, although he ended up seriously injured. When Militão fell, he didn't hesitate to turn to Asencio and he's now part of the first team. And in the Cup, it was Loren and Diego Aguado, who have also gone to the Super Cup.

Therefore, the presence of youth players this season has indeed been greater, although it could be more. We'll have to see how Lamini adapts since they see great potential in him for the team. Juni Calafat considers him a very noteworthy option for the future.
