Olympique makes a move and already has a 'replacement' for Dani Ceballos
The deal for Ceballos and Marseille falls through, and they already have a 'replacement' for the Utrera native in France
The most recent operation by Real Madrid that seemed to be a certainty was Dani Ceballos moving to Olympique de Marseille. Everything seemed to indicate that yesterday the deal was very close to being finalized and, in the end, everything surprisingly fell through. Now, it appears that the French club has already set its sights on another player and the signing of Hamed Junior Traoré is practically done.
According to Defensa Central, the agreement is already closed by the French club for an initial fee of 7 million euros. This amount is considerably lower than what Real Madrid was asking for, which went up to 15 million euros for the Spaniard. Now they will have to try to find another way out for the Seville footballer if they want to bring in some money for him this summer.
Ceballos's replacement
The deal seemed to be completely on track for this very week, with the end of the transfer window approaching. A possible loan with an option to buy was on the table, where 15 million euros was the price to be paid by Marseille. In the end, it is very likely that the French club backed out of the deal due to the high price for the Spanish footballer.

With this, they decided to go to the market in search of another player with a profile that would fit the French club's plans. This footballer, who already seems to have Fabrizio Romano's "Here we go," will sign a contract until 2030 with a 50% resale clause. This amount represents approximately half the savings for the French club compared to the Real Madrid player.
However, there seem to be other rumors indicating that Real Betis could return to the race to try to secure the midfielder's services. That said, for a much lower amount than what Olympique de Marseille could have paid. This could completely disrupt Real Madrid's financial plans, which aimed for the footballer's departure.
He could still stay
The most unsettling thing about all this is that the player might ultimately not leave the club and could be part of the white squad this very season. This way, Alonso would have to count on a footballer he doesn't seem to fully trust. However, given the situation, this could be a real option for the remainder of the window.
