Iturralde's Opinion on the Offside in Brahim's Goal: 'vinícius Is...'
The former referee has spoken about the controversy with Brahim's goal that Atlético fans are protesting
Real Madrid managed to win the first classic of the Champions League round of 16 at Bernabéu. Two great goals by Rodrygo and Brahim did justice to the team that caused the most danger. Atlético only came close with the great goal scored by Julián Álvarez in the first half.
However, Atlético fans are trying to make excuses to acknowledge the reality of the match. Simeone spoke of a "notable superiority" on the part of his team despite the statistics showing otherwise. But there are also those who focus on a supposed offside in Brahim's goal.

A referee like Iturralde González, who is not precisely a Madridist, has given his opinion on this. "Interferences can only be physical and visual and it can't be physical because he's 3 or 4 meters away" he assured. He didn't see any sense in protesting that offside.
"The ball goes to the far post where Oblak can never reach and there can't be interference in life" he stated. For Iturralde, the play is well refereed by Turpin despite the protests. The complaints came from the fans, not from the red-and-white players.
Iturralde Sends a Warning to Red-and-White Fans for Their Attempt
"You have to be careful about showing a still photo when Vinícius is moving to the other side" warned Iturralde. They knew what they were trying to do and that someone might buy into that deception. Images can be manipulated, and that's what some are already doing.

"If you take one more frame, even Oblak himself is watching the ball leave the boot" he added. Therefore, there is no offside even if they continue their attempt to find the best shot. Always to favor them instead of accepting the reality of the match.
But he also made clear what they were trying to do, something that happens too often. "If you take a misleading photo, you can create whatever narrative you want" indicated the former referee. A narrative that is almost always used in the same direction as in recent weeks.
