Paco González Reveals if Real Madrid Will Sign Bruno Fernandes: 'The Accounts...'

The director of Tiempo de Juego at Cadena COPE is clear about what will happen with the Portuguese player's future

In recent days, it has been reported in England that Real Madrid is interested in acquiring the services of Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese player is 30 years old, and his contract with Manchester United ends in 2027. He could leave Old Trafford for an amount close to 90 or 100 million euros.

It really seems complicated for the white team to see this operation as viable. After all, he is a player who is already in the final stage of his career, so he doesn't fit with Florentino's policy. It is even more difficult to imagine the president spending such an amount of money.

This idea has been echoed by Paco González, director of Tiempo de Juego at Cadena COPE. The journalist has highlighted that he thinks he is a great player, but he doesn't believe that Madrid will spend that money.

"But for a 30-year-old guy, for Madrid to pay 90 million seems impossible to me. All this knowing the accounts that Florentino has in mind, that signings have to be amortized and they have to be young", he stated.

No Option

From the noble area of Chamartín, they insist that there is no option for Bruno Fernandes to end up wearing the white jersey. He is a footballer they consider quite good, but they don't see it as viable to make this move. Especially when he has an active contract.

It is true that they have talked about him on several occasions. Especially in the past, but right now nobody is considering it, to the point that it is not on the table. Moreover, he plays in a position that is already well covered in Carlo Ancelotti's squad.

The objective that the sports management has in mind is to strengthen and rejuvenate the defense. Even, contrary to what was expected, it is possible that the club decides to make a significant investment in a central defender. Dean Huijsen would be one of the favorites to end up in the capital of Spain.

The Bournemouth defender is liked by the top officials, and Florentino is considering changing plans. The idea was to wait until 2026, but he might take a step forward in just a few months.
