Paco González Stops a COPE Journalist After Manu Sánchez's Red Card: 'I'm...'

Manu Sánchez left Deportivo Alavés with one less player after a hard tackle on Vinícius

The match played this Sunday in Vitoria between Deportivo Alavés and Real Madrid was full of intensity and key moments. A goal by Raúl Asencio was disallowed due to a previous foul by Antonio Rüdiger on the local goalkeeper, Owono. Additionally, Kylian Mbappé received a direct red card for a harsh tackle on Antonio Blanco shortly before halftime.

In the second half, Manu Sánchez was also sent off after committing a foul on Vinícius. The Spaniard left his studs on the thigh of the Real Madrid player, who was already heading toward the opposing goal.

The French forward Kylian Mbappé was sent off in the 38th minute after a strong tackle on Antonio Blanco. Soto Grado initially showed the Frenchman a yellow card but changed his decision after a call from the VAR room. Later, in the 69th minute of the match, Deportivo Alavés defender Manu Sánchez brought down Vinícius when the Brazilian was about to launch a counterattack.

The red card to the Deportivo Alavés player leveled the match in the final minutes. Real Madrid, by controlling the ball, managed to take all three points and continue in the fight for LaLiga.

Pedro Martín's Opinion and Paco González's Response

Pedro Martín, a journalist from 'Cadena COPE', commented on the controversial actions of the match in 'Tiempo de Juego'. "Mbappé's was indeed a red card because he almost broke his leg. Without malice, I'm tired of saying it, I don't think actions like Manu Sánchez's with Vinícius are expulsions", he commented.

"It wasn't a goal-scoring opportunity, he didn't even have control of the ball. We didn't know where the ball was going. He was sent off for the defensive action of hitting his leg, nothing more", he explained.

"I'm tired of seeing expulsions of this type that I don't think are expulsions", added Pedro Martín in 'Tiempo de Juego'.

"It's Mbappé's without intent. The ball first hits Vinicius and then goes to Manu's thigh, but Manu put his studs into the calf. It's Mbappé's without malice", replied with quite a bit of irony Paco González to his colleague.
