Pedrerol Disrespects Real Madrid and Gives Them No Chance in the Cup: 'To Canaletas'
The Host and Director of 'El Chiringuito de Jugones' Shares His Opinion on the Copa del Rey Final
Real Madrid and FC Barcelona remain focused on one of the most important matches in Spanish soccer each season: the Copa del Rey final. This match, to be played next Saturday, April 26, 2025, is now the center of all attention and debates, prompting multiple commentators to analyze what could happen at La Cartuja.
Josep Pedrerol has been one of the latest to do so, pointing out the white club in the process. The host of "El Chiringuito de Jugones" recalled past speeches: "let's not underestimate Madrid because it was seen in the second half against Athletic Club. Really, Madrid's second half was pathetic" at Getafe's Coliseum, with Thibaut Courtois's goal constantly under siege and with hardly any chances to reach the opponent's goal.

So much so that the veteran journalist insists on "Bordalás's lesson to Ancelotti again", just before praising the Alicante coach of Getafe: "bravo Bordalás". Josep Pedrerol can't explain and makes it clear that he is surprised at the prospect of "Madrid making this ridiculous display today, really. No, it's that the club, the crest and...", he advances as possible excuses for the irregular performance at the level of the merengue team's play.
"We talk about that again, don't we?, because soccer..." concludes Josep Pedrerol. According to the director of "El Chiringuito de Jugones", Real Madrid would lack the necessary soccer to face the great challenge they have this very week: the Copa del Rey final. That's why he predicts a victory for FC Barcelona for next Saturday, April 26.
Sees It as Impossible
His words are as follows: "I'm telling you, Canaletas is going to be madness and we will be live at Canaletas on Saturday. With this?", asks Josep Pedrerol, who believes that Real Madrid will not be able to beat FC Barcelona after their poor performance against Getafe in LaLiga. Although it seems like an impossible match to overcome, Carlo Ancelotti's pupils always have chances.
Especially because the Reggiolo coach would consider various changes compared to previous matches against Hansi Flick's pupils. One of the most notable alterations to his game plan would be the use of a new scheme, his "favorite system," to try to change the team's workflows. The defensive aspect, Ancelotti acknowledges, remains Real Madrid's great "must" this season.

The Italian strategist's goal has always been to maintain balance in the scheme, a great tactical trait that has offered him multiple tactical advantages and brought dozens of competitive successes. From the offices of Valdebebas, they believe, looking at that important match at the Sevillian stadium of La Cartuja, that victory is accessible.
Josep Pedrerol, however, can't be more pessimistic regarding Real Madrid's chances given the performance of the first-team footballers against Getafe last night. There is less and less time left for a final in which there is much more than a title at stake.
