Pedrerol starts El Chiringuito with a request to Barcelona and gets slammed with comebacks
In the spotlight after some remarks that leave the host exposed
With the season already over for Barça, they're only thinking about the transfer market while they're on vacation. Unlike Real Madrid, they didn't manage to qualify for the Club World Cup. So they have no more objectives left this campaign and are looking at possible signings.
Josep Pedrerol has shown this with the start of the latest episode of El Chiringuito. He's aware that Culers aren't going to have a transfer window with major high-profile signings. That's why he wanted to focus on one of the players who's being talked about the most right now.

"Can an Espanyol player sign for Barça without anything happening?" he began asking on the show. He then clarified who he's referring to: "Can Joan García do it?" He continued with his questions, wondering if "it would be a betrayal to pay the release clause."
Pedrerol has been blunt in stating in response to all those questions that "my answer is no." This hasn't gone over well and social media have criticized him for insisting on Joan García's signing for Barça. It's an issue that's become clear won't happen; it's a deal that's been ruled out.
Fans expose Pedrerol and all of Barcelona fandom
There are many Barça fans who, like Pedrerol, have jumped on the bandwagon of his possible signing. They don't see anything strange about Joan possibly leaving Espanyol to join the Pericos' rival. However, social media have exposed them for the hypocrisy in their statements.

The fact is that when Real Madrid did the same by paying Figo's release clause, they didn't think the same way. At that time, they attacked the Portuguese and Los Blancos for what they'd done. Not to mention the violent reception he had to endure at Camp Nou.
However, now they don't see any problem with the story possibly repeating itself with Joan García. Even if they keep insisting, it's more about creating hype than a reality that's going to happen. The goalkeeper is getting closer every day to leaving for the Premier League.
