Pedrerol's reflection on Wharton's signing by Real Madrid
Adam Wharton continues to be linked with a move to the White team in the current transfer window
Real Madrid is still considering the possibility of signing Adam Wharton, the English footballer from Crystal Palace. According to "Defensa Central," Xabi Alonso has reportedly asked the club to sign the footballer for the current transfer window.
Adam Wharton would be the player who could replace Toni Kroos and Luka Modric in Real Madrid's midfield. However, his signing won't be easy, since Crystal Palace won't let the midfielder go for free. Nevertheless, the club is still closely monitoring what might happen and, if an opportunity arises, they could make a move.

Adam Wharton's signing will be complicated
As of today, Adam Wharton is under contract with his current club until 2029. According to "Transfermarkt," the footballer is valued at about €45 million, although Crystal Palace has set his price at over €80 million.
The truth is that Real Madrid's interest in Adam Wharton isn't new. The British footballer already appeared on the Madrid club's shortlist this winter, when the "Daily Mail" reported that he was one of Calafat's favorites. His signing is difficult and could only happen if a departure occurs first, but it's not entirely impossible.
Josep Pedrerol doesn't believe in Adam Wharton's signing
However, not everyone believes that Real Madrid is interested in Adam Wharton. A clear example is Josep Pedrerol, host of "El Chiringuito." On the most recent show, the journalist made it clear that he didn't see the club paying that amount.
"I don't see Real Madrid spending €80 million on Wharton", explained Josep Pedrerol as the rest of the panel looked on.
Meanwhile, the Spanish press have already started to pick up the first reports about Adam Wharton. In fact, the English footballer is featured on the latest cover of the newspaper AS. "Wharton on the radar", headlines the outlet.
It will be necessary to keep an eye on the final stretch of the transfer window, although the footballer's arrival seems complicated. For that to happen, a departure would have to take place and, although it's not impossible, Real Madrid's squad seems increasingly closed.
