The Portuguese gem who could join Real Madrid for €70M, Calafat gives the OK

Rodrigo Mora is one of the greatest young talents in soccer, and the Madridist scout wants to sign him this summer

Rodrigo Mora is already on Real Madrid's radar. The young Porto talent has become one of the most closely followed names by Juni Calafat, the chief scout of the club.

He's only 18 years old, but his impact has been immediate. In the Club World Cup, he left his mark with a goal and very complete performances.

He played all three group stage matches, against Inter Miami, Ahly SC, and Palmeiras. He started in all of them and completed two.

A wink that didn't go unnoticed

Mora's Madridism isn't new. His father already left a phrase that has caught attention in Valdebebas: "He only asked me for Real Madrid's channel," he said in an interview.

As a child, instead of watching cartoons, he preferred Castilla's matches. That has reached Calafat's ears, who has already given the green light to the operation. The Brazilian believes that Mora has everything to succeed at Bernabéu.

The price, main obstacle

The problem is his release clause. Porto doesn't plan to negotiate unless there's an offer close to €70 million.
Madrid believes that it's a cost that's too high for a player who's still taking his first steps in the elite.

Mora recently renewed his contract until 2027. In that signing, his clause was adjusted, which can even increase further if certain objectives are met.

Rodrigo Mora was born in Matosinhos in 2007. He's 5 ft. 6 in. (1.68 meters) tall and stands out for his agility, vision, and creativity with the ball. He himself has said that his best virtue is passing and reading the game.

Porto's current coach, Vítor Bruno, has been clear: "If Mora realizes the football he has, he can reach the top."

He's already scored 11 goals and provided 4 assists in the first team, and Calafat doesn't want to let him go.

Real Madrid will keep a close eye. If the conditions change, there could be movement. For now, everything depends on the price.
