PSG loses its mind and demands nearly €100M from Mbappé one year later
The departure of the Bondy striker continues to give much to talk about in the French capital
Kylian Mbappé's departure as a free agent from PSG has triggered multiple litigations and legal battles between the French footballer's legal team and the rouge-et-bleu entity that continue. One of the most striking is the lawsuit that Kylian Mbappé reportedly filed against PSG for unpaid salaries and bonuses agreed upon in his last contract as a Parisian footballer.
The case of those 55 million euros is increasingly leaning in favor of the now Real Madrid footballer. PSG seems to be running out of arguments to defend its case in that regard and has reportedly opened a new front with a multimillion-dollar claim to 'respond' to Mbappé himself. According to Radio Montecarlo, the French entity claims about 98 million euros from its former player.

This request comes a year after his departure as a free agent from the Parc des Princes, a move that did not please Nasser Al-Khelaïfi at all. PSG's president seems determined to defend the interests of the French team and not pay those 55 million euros that they supposedly owe the merengue striker. Additionally, he reportedly demanded almost 100 million for "delaying tactics" employed during the process.
According to PSG's legal representatives, this claim of 98 million euros is based on the "consequences of the delaying tactics that caused harm" to the club. According to one of PSG's lawyers, in statements to AFP, "the goal is not to recover the 98 million euros". From the offices in Poissy, they would seek to discredit Kylian Mbappé's claims for unpaid salaries and bonuses from the past season.
it's not over yet
PSG wants to prove that "if he owes us money, his claim is unfounded". In addition to this claim of almost 100 million euros for the current litigation over unpaid salaries and bonuses, the entity filed an appeal with the Paris Judicial Court. The team presided over by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi went to that instance seeking the repeal of the payment order by the French Professional Football League authorities.
These authorities, dated in the months of October and November 2024, sided with Kylian Mbappé and demanded that PSG pay those 55 million euros. The decision did not satisfy the rouge-et-bleu club, which has constantly elevated this litigation to higher instances, thus escaping the realm of sports justice. The only step left is to go to the Tribunal Prud’hommes, the French equivalent of the Spanish Social Court.

The constant litigations between Kylian Mbappé and PSG seemed to affect the Parisian footballer during his first months as a Real Madrid player. The passage of time and the delegation of that prominence to his lawyers has allowed the merengue '9' to focus on improving his results as seen in the last Clásico. Despite everything, it doesn't seem that the end of this legal case is on the horizon.
The reality is that PSG resists paying the 55 million euros it supposedly owes to Kylian Mbappé in terms of fees and bonuses from the past season. In addition to elevating the case to the highest judicial instances in France, they claim almost 100 million euros for the "delaying tactics" that the French player allegedly employed in the process.
