Rafael Louzán, RFEF President, Reveals What Florentino Told Him: 'The Referees'

In an interview, he highlighted the message conveyed to him from Real Madrid

For a few weeks now, the Royal Spanish Soccer Federation has had a new president. Rafael Louzán was appointed to the position and has significant challenges ahead. The 2030 World Cup, the Negreira case, or moving past Rubiales's tenure are complicated hurdles.

However, he surprised everyone by talking about Florentino in an interview conducted by Josep Pedrerol. The new president of the RFEF revealed what the Madrid told him. He is particularly insistent on the issue of referees and everything that has happened.

He revealed that a year ago in Arabia, they had a conversation, and Florentino was very direct. "You have to solve that referee issue that's hurting us, and we've lost many titles because of it," the Madrid president told him.

In fact, he also acknowledged the proposal Florentino made to make everything more impartial. "He told me one day that he was going to bring English referees to officiate," Louzán commented on what Florentino requested. It's clear that it would be a measure to make soccer more transparent, although it seems unlikely to happen.

The Negreira issue is one of the things that has most concerned Florentino these months

Since the Negreira case broke out, the Spanish football world went into shock over what had been discovered. A club had been paying the vice president of the CTA for years. However, nothing has been solved yet, and some investigated referees are still officiating.

Louzán revealed that "Florentino reminds me from time to time about the Negreira case." The white president tells him to "solve the Negreira case," although the former washes his hands of it. He claims it's in the hands of justice and that he can't do anything.

A situation that harms Spanish football in general because no measures have been taken regarding it. The president of the RFEF also pointed out the message conveyed by his Real Madrid counterpart. "Florentino firmly states that he feels disadvantaged in the refereeing field," he concluded.
