Ramón de Mon shares his opinion on Vinícius: his contract renewal is very difficult: 'A farce'

The journalist and communicator reveals what is happening these days around the Brazilian footballer

The saga surrounding Vinícius's contract renewal is still far from over. The bosses led by Florentino Pérez are still looking for a way to solve the case,  but there is still no common ground between the parties involved in these tense negotiations.

One of the latest comments made regarding the future of the "7" verdeamarelo comes from Ramón Álvarez de Mon. The Real Madrid member points out the significant drop in performance as a key element to consider in the analysis of the current situation of the South American striker. He has also revealed his opinion regarding this decline in his performance.

"As a Madridist, I'm very grateful" for everything Vinícius has given Real Madrid, acknowledges Ramón Álvarez de Mon. However, he also says "it's disrespectful to Vinícius the footballer to say that he's fine, that there are no problems, that he's performing and all that". Many place the beginning of this particular decline at the defeat for the 2024 Ballon d'Or.

That's why "we have to admit now that he's not at the same level, physically as well, because you really notice it in his attempts to dribble past opponents. The statistics make this quite clear", an unexpected regression in the performance of the best footballing asset Real Madrid has had since the 21/22 season.

There are many versions

The sustained drop in his performance throughout almost the entire 24/25 season is "in line with the contract renewal situation. Because several media outlets have reported the renewal as a done deal at various times, I sense that this information usually comes from Madrid", the commentator points out. Meanwhile, as a contradictory version, "it's true that if you dig a little into Vinícius's camp, they deny it, and this has happened several times", the journalist warns.

The true state of Vinícius Jr.'s contract renewal is difficult to know, given that "the club was convinced it was going to renew him and that's why this information comes out. But it's true that it's a bit strange that they deny it in that way", reflects the journalist and Real Madrid member.

He also wonders if the attitude of Vinícius's camp, denying the renewal, "is just a ploy to get a bit more or if it's real" and there is still no signature. "I've understood the mess and the contradiction that existed and I'd rather let others move that forward and I'll try to verify it", Ramón Álvarez de Mon confides. That's why he would have distanced himself from the saga created around Vinícius's contract renewal.

The journalist admits he feels "a bit lost with this information", another sign that this issue doesn't have an easy resolution. The growing distance between Real Madrid and the camp of the verdeamarelo striker makes it less likely that an agreement will be reached in the coming weeks... and offers a radical change in the future prospects that the striker from São Gonçalo could have beyond this summer.
