Real Betis confirms it, end of the Ceballos deal: Florentino agrees

The future of the Andalusian footballer is about to be officially solved

Although Xabi Alonso's first team squad is practically finalized, officials at Valdebebas still have doubts regarding the future of some footballers. The most notable case in this regard is Rodrygo Goes, who has been unofficially placed on the exit ramp from the Merengue locker room.

While Premier League offers continue to circle the "11" verdeamarelo, the futures of players like Fran García or Dani Ceballos are starting to be solved. Especially the Andalusian midfielder, whose role in the first team could be weakened by the arrival of Franco Mastantuono.

The young Argentine attacking midfielder represents even more competition for the Spanish "19", who isn't among the top spots in the rotation established by Xabi Alonso for the 25/26 campaign. According to information obtained by Defensa Central, the entourage of the Utrera-born player has considered his departure from the Merengue sports project.

Officials at Valdebebas replied positively: Ceballos could leave the team if he were to present a financially appropriate offer. Only Real Betis seemed willing to step up to take on the player's contract, now at 27 years old, but everything has come to nothing.

Transfer canceled

It is precisely the financial conditions set within the framework of that operation that have proven decisive for the leaders headed by Ángel Haro to completely walk away from it. Very few clubs are willing to invest the amount demanded by the Merengue board for Dani Ceballos, between €10 and €15 million (between $10.9M and $16.3M).

Meanwhile, according to information published by Jorge Picón, the Verdiblanca board of directors understands that they can't pay Dani Ceballos's salary. The transfer wouldn't be possible even with a substantial reduction in the wages he currently receives at Real Madrid, a possibility that has been well considered by the Spanish footballer's entourage.

As things stand, Dani Ceballos is increasingly destined to remain at Real Madrid for another season. Journalist Antón Meana, on Cadena SER, reported that Xabi Alonso had expressed his desire to count on him. The player was staying in Santiago Bernabéu locker room awaiting an offer that now won't arrive.

At least not for the Merengue "19", whose signing is economically unsustainable for Real Betis. That's why the Tolosa coach is already considering changes and modifications to his tactical plans to include the midfielder, now that he is requesting the signing of a creative midfielder to strengthen the squad.
