Real Madrid climbs to the top three of the market in 2025, only 2 clubs surpass it

The teams that have spent more on signings than Real Madrid during this summer transfer window

Once the season ended, Real Madrid began working on strengthening its squad. After identifying the positions that most needed reinforcement, the club managed to secure key transfers. Dean Huijsen, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Franco Mastantuono, and Álvaro Carreras have placed the team in 3rd place in the ranking with €180.5 million (about $195 million) spent.

This shows Real Madrid's financial power as well as how important this transfer window is. The clubs that surpass Real Madrid in this ranking are Liverpool with €214 million (about $231 million) spent. First place goes to Chelsea, recent Club World Cup champion, with €244 million (about $267 million) invested.

While Real Madrid's investment is significant, the club still needs to finalize departures. According to what we know at Defensa Central, Rodrygo could be one of the players to say goodbye to the team. His departure would be for an amount that would help balance the books.

The teams that have spent the most

Outside the top 3, Tottenham is in 4th position with €141 million (about $155 million) spent. Manchester City follows, a surprise given its usual spending, with €131 million (about $144 million). In 6th position is Sunderland, newly promoted to the Premier League, which has already invested €116 million (about $126 million).

Bayer Leverkusen is in 7th place with €102 million (about $111 million) spent this window. 8th position goes to Como 1907 with €88.5 million (about $96 million) to continue its exciting project. Arsenal is the club in 9th position, investing only €87 million (about $94 million) so far this window.

Finally, closing out the top 10, Brighton has spent €80 million (about $87 million) on signings. These amounts make clear the huge difference between Real Madrid and the rest of the clubs. Although the arrival of another player isn't ruled out, Real Madrid has already made its most important signings.

The new squad

Xabi Alonso will have a squad full of talent at his disposal for next season. With both established and newly arrived players, Real Madrid is ready for a new era. After last season's inconsistency, the club is looking to make history again.
