Real Madrid Makes an Urgent Request to Carlo Ancelotti for the Upcoming Games
Reggiolo's coach must completely change his tactics after the thrashing against Barcelona
Real Madrid is still digesting what happened in the European Supercopa final in Jeddah, an unexpected and resounding defeat at Barcelona's hands. The debates currently running through the Meringue entity are essentially focused on Carlo Ancelotti's continuity at the helm of the white bench. No changes in the coaching staff are foreseen yet, but a defeat against Celta de Vigo could be definitive.
In any case, the Valdebebas offices are still willing to count on the Reggiolo coach for the remainder of the season. That's why they would have hinted at an important instruction to precipitate changes in his tactics and starting eleven for the upcoming games.
One of those changes coincides with a long-standing demand from Madrid fans. More specifically since the season began: give more minutes to Arda Güler. He talent seems to have exceeded expectations, and by the results of the first 2024 months, in his adaptation season to the European soccer elite.
However, Ancelotti seems adamantly opposed to giving a spot in the starting eleven to the Turkish '15'. Even a hypothetical consultation call during the months of October and November didn't have the desired effect. Güler remains anchored to the bench at Bernabéu with sporadic and streaky appearances that don't help him settle in or confirm an adequate competitive rhythm.
Strong determination
The information revealed by Antón Meana, journalist from Cadena SER, is very clear in this regard. At the white club, they warn that Modric must maintain a secondary role, similar to what he had during the final stages of last season. They also note that Camavinga isn't taking the definitive step to establish himself as a regular starter in the pivot, while they don't see Ceballos as a fixture in the midfield.
The only option missing, therefore, is Arda Güler himself. His performances, despite having participated in some defeats this season, haven't displeased the white leadership... and they leave an unequivocal message for the coaching staff's head: he must have many more minutes than he has been given so far.
For now, the Italian strategist doesn't seem to agree with the idea of giving more space to the young promises of the first team. Reiterating "patience" repeatedly, the discontent of Güler himself and Endrick grows with each match in which they don't participate. That situation might be about to change.
The agitation over the defeat in the Spanish Super Cup final would be the right moment to change the engine room and place Arda Güler. The consolidation of this measure depends on Ancelotti himself, who is heavily criticized for the defeats and poor image shown in the most important matches of this season.
