XI Real Madrid - Mallorca
Carlo Ancelotti's line-up to secure a spot in the Spanish Supercopa final
The Spanish Supercopa begins for the reigning champions. Real Madrid will fight in Jeddah for what could be their third title of the season after the UEFA Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup.
In this case, the opponent in the semifinals of the final four will be RCD Mallorca, finalist of the last Copa del Rey. If Carlo Ancelotti's team wins, the opponent in the grand final will be FC Barcelona.
Barça, who already played yesterday, defeated Athletic Club by zero goals to two in the first semifinal. It would be a regame of a final that was already played last year and was won by Real Madrid (4-1). That day, Vinícius scored three goals and Barça couldn't compete against a dominant line-up.
Real Madrid's line-up against Mallorca
After the rotations against Deportiva Minera in the Copa del Rey, Ancelotti returns to his ideal line-up to face RCD Mallorca.
The goal will be defended by Thibaut Courtois, while the back four will consist of Ferland Mendy, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Antonio Rüdiger, and Lucas Vázquez.
The midfield will be occupied by Fede Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, and Jude Bellingham. It's important to note that Luka Modric won't be able to play today due to a last-minute cold.
Finally, for the goals, the usual three names will be there: Rodrygo Goes, Vinícius, and Kylian Mbappé.
In summary: Courtois; Mendy, Tchouaméni, Rüdiger, Lucas Vázquez; Fede Valverde, Camavinga, Jude Bellingham; Rodrygo, Vinícius, and Mbappé.
Objective: repeat title
Real Madrid arrives in Saudi Arabia with the goal of lifting the Spanish Super Cup once again a year later.
Carlo Ancelotti's team already overcame the semifinals last season against Atlético de Madrid in a match that ended 5-3. The game was tied at three at the end of regulation time, but the "whites" ended up winning in extra time with two more goals.
Already in the final, Real Madrid faced FC Barcelona at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh. There, Vinícius put on a show with three goals in just 39 minutes. Rodrygo sealed the final by making it 4-1 in the second half, and the title ended up in the Santiago Bernabéu's trophy cabinet.
