The Real Madrid player who could leave with Modric for Milan, Xabi counts on him
The star AC Milan intends to sign despite its importance to Xabi Alonso
After the end of the Club World Cup, Real Madrid and Luka Modric finally parted ways. The Croatian is leaving the club after 13 seasons as a Madridist to join AC Milan. A team that, as we know at Defensa Central, is interested in signing Fran García following the recent departure of Theo Hernández.
A complicated operation to carry out given how important Fran is for Xabi Alonso. The left-back went from being almost certain to leave to becoming an undisputed starter under the Basque coach. Boosted by the three-center-back system, Fran was a key piece during the World Cup, even winning the MVP in one match.
However, Milan's interest has been growing over the days, considering Fran an indispensable signing. Following the transfer of Álvaro Carreras, Real Madrid could analyze Fran García's situation more closely.
The second Italian wish
Trained in Real Madrid's youth academy, Fran García has gone from less to more at the club. His great performance at Rayo Vallecano gave him an opportunity with the first team, returning to the club in the summer of 2023. However, given Ferland Mendy's excellent performance, Fran was relegated to being the Frenchman's backup.

During last season, and despite Mendy's injuries, Fran never managed to perform at an acceptable level. This situation changed after Xabi Alonso's arrival, as he managed to play every match of the Club World Cup as an undisputed starter.
At 25 years old and with a contract until 2027, Fran García is in one of the best moments of his career. While Milan hasn't been the team Europe feared for years, this hasn't stopped the Italians from building an interesting project.
Real Madrid's departures
Given all the signings Real Madrid has made, player departures are now the priority for the team. Although the club needs to generate income to keep signing, Fran García's departure, for now, hasn't been considered by Xabi Alonso.
