Although it will be strange to see the center-back without this number, this is the least of the concerns in order to play for Real Madrid. To be able to assign him a new number, Real Madrid has to make some departures. This is a situation that, given the time left before the end of the transfer window, shouldn't be a major problem.
A big step for Asencio
At 22 years old (22 años), Raúl Asencio started last season as part of Castilla. He joined this category that same summer after his brilliant spell with the Juveniles and the Youth Academy. Due to injuries in the first team's defense, Asencio managed to get an opportunity to show his worth to the squad, fans, and coach.
Through a surprising performance, Asencio managed to earn a place in the first team. This is an achievement for a homegrown player who is now one of the leaders of Real Madrid's defense. However, his future at the club was highly questioned after the World Cup.
