Real Madrid TV Explodes After Martínez Munuera's Performance: Filthy...

The 'Real Madrid TV' commentators ended up very frustrated with Martínez Munuera's refereeing

Real Madrid secured a deserved victory at Santiago Bernabéu after defeating Athletic Club. The white club secured the three points in added time thanks to a spectacular volley by Fede Valverde in the 93rd minute. However, the goal could have come much earlier, as the whites created numerous chances, especially during the second half.

In the first half, Ancelotti's team controlled possession and was close to opening the scoring around the 30th minute. Vinícius stole the ball in the midfield and ended up launching a powerful shot from outside the box that went very close to the goal. Shortly after, in the 36th minute, Modrić took a corner that Valverde headed forcefully, although his shot ended up in Unai Simón's hands.

Much Work to Achieve a Single Goal

Madrid maintained high pressure in the second half and was about to break the tie with a double chance from Jude Bellingham. First, the Englishman connected a header after a sensational outside pass from Vinícius, but Unai Simón reacted with a brilliant save. The white team continued to accumulate merits to take the lead, and in the 67th minute, Fede Valverde once again created danger with a powerful left-footed shot.

Carlo Ancelotti's pupils did not slow down and continued to pour forward in attack until the end. The white team's persistence was constant, and finally, in injury time, the deserved reward came. Valverde sealed the winning goal with a shot with the outside of his right foot that went impeccably into the top corner.

An Uncalled Penalty and the Anger of Real Madrid TV

By the 80th minute, Vinícius managed to send the ball into the back of the net after a brilliant individual action, but the goal was disallowed for an offside by Endrick. Although the young forward did not touch the ball, his advanced position by a few centimeters was considered influential. The referee, Martínez Munuera, reviewed the action in the VAR and chose to invalidate the goal.

The controversy did not end there. In the 88th minute, Bellingham received the ball inside the box, and when he tried to control it, Núñez hit his foot while attempting to clear. Despite the evident contact, neither the referee nor the VAR considered it a penalty, which sparked the anger of 'Real Madrid TV'.

"Dirty Negreira League", they commented several times from the white club's television. Additionally, Carlo Ancelotti, visibly upset, also referred to that play in the subsequent press conference.
