Real Madrid wins the 'battle' with Nico Paz, neither Bayer Leverkusen nor Inter Milan

The Whites retain a buy-back right for Nico Paz in the summers of 2026 and 2027 after he continues at Como

Nico Paz will stay at Como, and Real Madrid keeps full control over his future. Despite interest from major European clubs such as Bayer Leverkusen and Inter Milan, the young player will continue under Cesc Fàbregas's orders this season. In addition, the white club keeps a buy-back option that allows it to bring him back in 2026 or 2027.

The Argentine midfielder, although born in Spain, is sold to Como, but Florentino Pérez didn't miss the chance to include a key clause in the agreement.

In 2026, Real Madrid will be able to re-sign Nico Paz for €9 million. One year later, the option rises to €10 million. This way, the white club continues to bet on his talent without losing the card of bringing him back whenever it deems appropriate.

Leverkusen and Inter miss out on signing

Bayer Leverkusen, after an inconsistent season, was looking for reinforcements to keep growing in Bundesliga and Europe. Among its targets was Nico Paz, a young player with potential and characteristics that fit as the perfect replacement for Florian Wirtz. However, it didn't manage to close the deal with Real Madrid or convince the player.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan was also interested in the striker. The Italian club intends to strengthen its midfield with young talents who can bring freshness and dynamism to the attack. Nevertheless, Real Madrid's commitment to keep control over Nico Paz and his presence at Como has been decisive in preventing the signing from happening.

Real Madrid's plan with Nico Paz

The Merengue club is clear that Nico Paz is a talent to nurture. The sale to Como allows the young player to gain minutes and experience in a team where Cesc Fàbregas, former FC Barcelona player, serves as coach. This environment is helping his development in a competitive league and in a team that bets on controlling the game.

Real Madrid, with the buy-back option, ensures that it will be able to decide when and how it wants to count on him. This way, it avoids losing a footballer with a bright future in an increasingly expensive and demanding market.

Nico Paz will keep growing in Italy, while Florentino Pérez keeps a firm hand to control his future. The battle for the young attacking midfielder goes to Real Madrid. For now, neither Bayer Leverkusen nor Inter Milan can challenge it for that priority.
