Starting line-up for Real Madrid vs Pachuca: Xabi Alonso listens to the fans

Coach Xabi Alonso isn't holding anything back for this final against Pachuca in the Club World Cup

Real Madrid is ready to face Pachuca tonight at Bank of America Stadium, in a match corresponding to the second round of the Club World Cup.

Xabi Alonso, aware of the obligation they have to win, has fielded the best team injuries allow him, so he'll go all out from the opening whistle.

"I expect an intense match. We want to play well and win. In such a short competition, after the draw the other day, we need to win and finish with a better feeling. We want to play a more complete match with and without the ball. We've had five training sessions and everything takes time, but the schedule forces you to compete well. We're here eager for tomorrow," said the Madrid coach.

These words already made it clear that Xabi Alonso wouldn't hold anything back, aware that he needs to get all three points against the Mexicans.

Xabi Alonso bets on Arda Güler and Gonzalo

Real Madrid's line-up against Pachuca is basically the same as against Al-Hilal, but with one change, although this could make the Merengues' playing system change.

Xabi Alonso has put Rodrygo Goes on the bench, who has given his place to Arda Güler, who'll look to take advantage of this golden opportunity.

"I feel more comfortable as an 8 or 10, but if the team needs me as a winger I can do it. Xabi Alonso sees me more as a midfielder," confessed the Turkish player himself yesterday in the mixed zone.

These words create doubt about the Ottoman's position, which will be clarified on the field at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

The other change from Xabi Alonso is Gonzalo, who already started against Al-Hilal, but is a youth player who's getting opportunities after Kylian Mbappé's absence.

The Castilla striker has been the only Merengue player to score in the Club World Cup, something he hopes to keep increasing his goal tally after facing Pachuca.
