Real Madrid's calm lasted seven minutes in the match against CF Pachuca. That was the same amount of time Raúl Asencio spent on the Charlotte stadium field. The defender, for the second match in a row, had an insufficient performance.

Right when Salomón Rondón was about to face Courtois's goal, the Canary Islands defender grabbed the forward. There was no discussion, since the defender had no chance of reaching the ball. In fact, nobody protested, only the position of the Venezuelan forward, which ended up being correct.

Raúl Asencio is not having much luck

Without a doubt, Raúl Asencio is having a Club World Cup to forget. In the first match, he caused a completely avoidable penalty against Al-Hilal that resulted in a tie. In the second, his presence lasted until the seventh minute.

The play against Pachuca did involve danger, but Raúl Asencio rushed by grabbing the Venezuelan. It seemed like he could have kept jostling with the forward, but the innocent gesture cost him the red card. At least the white team avoided the penalty, although they had to play with one man down for almost ninety minutes (90 min).

This way, there have been several red cards seen during the World Cup. The minimum punishment players have received is a two-match suspension. Therefore, if the defender receives that sanction, he wouldn't return until the quarterfinals, if Real Madrid qualify.

Raúl Asencio's red card sparked a debate on "Real Madrid TV" after the match. Everyone thought the red card for the Canary Islands player was deserved. However, they also said that the level of referees in the Club World Cup is much higher than in LaLiga.
