Regrettable, Enrique Cerezo laughs at Real Madrid: 'We don't have noise'
The President of Atlético de Madrid makes a very striking comment regarding Santiago Bernabéu
One of the sources of pride and controversy for Real Madrid for quite a few months has been the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. The board of directors led by Florentino Pérez decided, in the summer of 2019, to modify the original structure of the Merengue building to turn it into the first stadium of the 21st century.
The process is about to finish, after certain setbacks and difficulties that the Madrid club has overcome impeccably, keeping all deadlines and promises. The only failure that has been recorded in that regard is the holding of concerts inside the stadium, an activity stopped by the action of local residents in the nearby residential buildings.

After recognizing the needs of the neighbors in the area, Real Madrid would have made the decision to soundproof the stadium to recover that activity initially planned. While the installation of the measures is being completed, one of the great rivals of the Madrid team takes advantage of the situation to increase its revenue... and laugh at the Spanish capital club.
All the concerts that can't be held at Santiago Bernabéu end up taking place at Atlético de Madrid's stadium. Relativelymore isolated from a residential area compared to the Madrid stadium, the Colchonero building doesn't seem to have the same problems as its Merengue counterpart according to the Atlético president.
Live comparison
This is how Enrique Cerezo explained it during his latest appearance on Cadena SER. In fact, Riyadh Air Metropolitano has been chosen by UEFA to host the Champions League final in 2027, an honor it already had in 2019. Taking advantage of that news, the Atlético de Madrid boss took the opportunity to highlight the stadium located in Coslada.
"Our stadium has shown that it's a great stadium for concerts, that the quality of the music is excellent and it's very well prepared," the boss points out. "Above all, it has one thing, which is that we don't have noise anywhere, the decibels hardly reach any of the neighbors in the surrounding area", adds Enrique Cerezo.

Those words aren't chosen at random. In fact, it's a clear comment and reference to the current situation of concerts at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, stopped for months due to the sustained action of local residents. The Madrid board of directors is working tirelessly to properly soundproof its venue and reduce the impact of those events on all the people who live near the stadium.
Enrique Cerezo recalls that "it's an important thing and it's something, when they want to set up a concert, to keep very much in mind", concludes the Atlético de Madrid president. In any case, Real Madrid keeps working to recover one of the most striking features of its new venue without pointing fingers or interfering in the work of other clubs.
