Rodrygo has a plan to win back the starting spot at Real Madrid
The Brazilian trusts his chances, Xabi Alonso will prove it
It seems that Rodrygo, despite the many doubts that have arisen this summer, will stay at Real Madrid. He didn't communicate to the club his desire to leave, so no offers have been considered. Although, not many have inquired about the Brazilian either.
However, at Defensa Central, we have confirmed that Rodrygo's desire is to stay. He still thinks about succeeding at Real Madrid and wants to turn his situation around this season. Even though, at the Club World Cup, he received a tough blow from Xabi Alonso.

The man from Tolosa started him in the first match, but he didn't even finish it and wasn't a starter again. In fact, in some matches, including the semifinals against PSG, he didn't even play a minute. It was confirmed that the new coach sees him as a dispensable player in its plans.
However, the former Santos player still trusts his abilities and wants to prove it to Xabi Alonso. He believes that if he shows a good version of himself during the preseason, he could earn a spot. So, he has two weeks ahead to work hard and be ready for the start of the season.
The change of formation works against him
Everything seems to indicate that Xabi Alonso will opt to play with only two forwards in the line-up. The 5-3-2 is the formation he used at Bayer Leverkusen and will repeat at Real Madrid, at least at the beginning. This way, he strengthens the midfield with two wing-backs with good skills, such as Trent and Álvaro Carreras.

This will mean that up front, Vinícius and Mbappé will play, leaving Rodrygo on the bench and also facing competition. Gonzalo and Endrick, whose futures are also uncertain, will fight for minutes. The former Santos player knows it won't be easy, but even so, he trusts his chances.
He will stay and Florentino and Xabi Alonso have a meeting to catch up. One of the main topics of that meeting will be Rodrygo, to determine how they see his future. However, unless there is a last-minute change—there is still a lot of August left—he won't leave.
