Rodrygo runs out of options, Premier League makes an impactful signing and his future raises concerns

The Brazilian striker is in an increasingly compromised position

One of the sagas that Real Madrid must solve during the current summer transfer window is Rodrygo Goes's future. The verdeamarelo number "11" hasn't had a 24/25 campaign to remember, given his poor sporting performance... with the constant trust from Carlo Ancelotti, who always bet on his place in the starting line-up to try to reverse that trend.

Now things would have changed with Xabi Alonso's arrival. The Basque coach arrives to replace the Reggiolo manager, and the Osasco striker doesn't have a guaranteed spot in the starting eleven. That's why the Toulouse coach made it clear that "we have to talk" to analyze the situation and reach common ground.

Those conversations haven't taken place yet. According to information revealed in recent hours, the South American footballer has only one request: he'll insist on playing on the left wing. That position is currently occupied by Vinícius Jr., which will undoubtedly create a significant dilemma for Xabi Alonso.

Rodrygo doesn't seem willing to change his demands, so his departure from Santiago Bernabéu locker room is beginning to emerge on the horizon as an acceptable solution. As things stand, transfer market rumors link the former Santos footballer with two Premier League teams. Arsenal and Chelsea have reportedly been exploring the feasibility of that signing for several days.

Less and less room

The club chaired by Todd Boehly, however, would have distanced themselves significantly from signing the Madrid striker. Because the blue sporting management is about to confirm the signing of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Borussia Dortmund's left winger. Enzo Maresca has requested more attacking options, with the higher-ups at Stamford Bridge keeping their word.

The addition of the still black-and-yellow footballer to the London club's squad, however, would eliminate Chelsea as a offeror for Rodrygo Goes. Everything suggests that Chelsea trust Bynoe-Gittens as their undisputed left winger, given that he is one of the most exciting footballer prospects in the European elite. Rodrygo loses his spot at one of the two teams willing to sign him.

As things stand, only Arsenal would remain in the race to secure the striker's services, who has the doors open at Real Madrid. The higher-ups at Emirates Stadium have made various approaches to the verdeamarelo striker's camp, but the deal is still far from yielding concrete results that would lead to his departure.

Chelsea's moves further reduce the chances of finding an exit for Rodrygo Goes: Arsenal appears to be the only team interested in acquiring his footballing services. If the player doesn't fit as a guaranteed starter at Real Madrid and the gunner club doesn't make a move this summer, Rodrygo would be left in a competitive "limbo" that's difficult to solve.
