Rodrygo's Reply Ahead of the Champions League Play-off: 'Against City...'

Rodrygo Goes spoke to the media after scoring two goals in the victory against Brest

Rodrygo Goes appeared before the microphone of Movistar + after the game against Brest. The Brazilian scored two of Real Madrid's three goals.

"It was very important to win today. We've played very well today and I'm very happy to score twice with this jersey", the Brazilian commented.

The Carioca player, who returned to start from the left flank, was one of the best players of the white team against Brest. Additionally, Rodrygo Goes has perfectly filled in for Vinícius's absence in recent games.

"This is Real Madrid. We all have a lot of ability to do things well. Everyone who comes in does very well", the player explained.

About the possible clash with Manchester City

Additionally, Rodrygo Goes learned on the field about Real Madrid's possible opponents in the round of sixteen. The Madridists, who won convincingly in France, couldn't qualify among the top eight clubs.

This way, Real Madrid will find out in Friday's draw if their opponent is Celtic of Glasgow or Manchester City. Meanwhile, the round of sixteen clashes would be against Atlético de Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen.

"We were talking about that at the end of the match, but I tried to focus on the match and score goals. Whoever we face will be difficult no matter what. Against City, it's always difficult, but whoever it is, it's always complicated and tough in this competition", Rodrygo Goes commented.

A bitter taste in the last matchday

Real Madrid didn't do the job in time in the Champions League and will end up paying for it with two extra matches. The results against AC Milan or LOSC Lille weighed heavily, and Carlo Ancelotti's team couldn't qualify among the top eight.

"Yes. Our goal was to be among the top eight, but we didn't do well in some matches. It's already happened, and we have to keep improving, which we are doing", Rodrygo Goes concluded.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian footballer continues to demonstrate being at a very high level in recent matches. Currently, Rodrygo Goes has already scored eleven goals in the recent ten commitments.
