The salary Vinícius is demanding to sign his contract renewal, Florentino has said 'No'

The contract renewal is becoming complicated, Real Madrid's President doesn't want to pay Vinícius's salary

We're already in August and Real Madrid and Vinícius still haven't reached an agreement for his contract renewal. It seemed like it was going to be easier, but days have passed and they haven't found common ground. Florentino doesn't seem willing to give in to his demands.

The sticking point is the salary Vinícius is demanding to sign his renewal. He wants to be the highest-paid player on the squad, but Florentino doesn't seem inclined to break the wage scale. That's where negotiations to extend the Brazilian's contract currently stand.

What Vinícius is asking for is considered too high at Real Madrid right now. According to SER and as Defensa Central has confirmed, he wants a net salary starting at €25 million (about $27 million). With that amount, he would surpass Mbappé and move into first place.

However, it doesn't seem like the best time for that request from the Brazilian after a poor season. In addition, Rafa Alkorta has issued a warning to the number 7 in white so he doesn't make a mistake. "Vinícius shouldn't push Florentino too hard, we already saw what happened with Sergio Ramos" he recalled.

Real Madrid stops everything all at once

At Real Madrid, they've seen that the positions right now aren't getting any closer. It's true that both sides want to reach an agreement, since they hope Vini will stay at the club. He won't do it at any price, and that's what's delayed the signing.

At the club, they don't want to make a wrong move and for now they've decided to wait. They know that he has a contract until 2027, so it's not an immediate priority. That's why Real Madrid has stopped talks with Vinícius.

What happens in the coming months could end up being decisive for Vini's future at Madrid. If he gets back to his best level, Florentino will also improve his offer, without losing his head. If he doesn't bounce back, it'll be impossible for him to grant a big raise.
