Signing Done and Announced, Real Madrid Secures Raúl Asencio's Ideal Pair

The white executives have reportedly already decided on their chosen player to renew the center-back position

One of the major dilemmas that Real Madrid has faced in the transfer market in recent times is centered around the first team's roster of central defenders. Recurring injuries, as well as Nacho Fernández's departure as a free agent, have significantly reduced the personnel available to Carlo Ancelotti.

The Reggiolo coach has achieved some balance thanks to the 'promotion' of Raúl Asencio and the repositioning of Aurélien Tchouaméni as an emergency central defender, a decision that has earned him much criticism. Given the 'even more difficult' situation the Italian coach has been in, the Valdebebas offices have decided to take action immediately.

In this context, the executives led by Florentino Pérez have reportedly set as a priority for the summer of 2025 the acquisition of a central defender. The ideal profile for this acquisition is a young footballer with experience in European elite soccer and a left-footed profile. All the requirements of this renewed Madridist recruitment policy are perfectly met by Dean Huijsen.

The Spanish central defender would also help recover some of the ground lost in the national team in recent seasons. The white leaders would be prepared to face his incorporation, especially after the information revealed by Eduardo Inda. The director of "OKDiario" recalls that "what I've said is that he has Huijsen's 'yes'" for a hypothetical arrival in the white locker room.

Alternative Plans

The entity presided over by Florentino Pérez "has the player's 'yes,' but Bournemouth is asking for 50 million euros and is trying to lower the operation's cost". The white leadership understands that this demand from the cherry board is unfeasible due to Dean Huijsen's own profile, not because of the stable situation of Real Madrid's healthy treasury.

Eduardo Inda points out that "they also tell me that if Bournemouth doesn't lower the operation's cost, Real Madrid plans for the Valencian boy Joan Martínez to be the future central defender". Again, faced with the doubts raised by an operation in the European elite soccer transfer market, the Madrid leaders trust the talent developed in La Fábrica.

In this context, the main directive for the 'central defender case' at Real Madrid involves Dean Huijsen. The white club's emissaries are already working on lowering the transfer cost of this operation, according to Eduardo Inda, while a 'plan B' is being developed in case of another failure. As has happened during the worst moments of this season, Carlo Ancelotti should trust the talent of the Madrid youth academy to complete his roster of central defenders for the 25/26 campaign.

Raúl Asencio and Joan Martínez, if the signing of Dean Huijsen ends up failing, would be the two new central defenders that Real Madrid would include in the first team according to Eduardo Inda. Both youth players are the most outstanding of their class along with a Jacobo Ramón who has already debuted with the first team in previous LaLiga and Copa del Rey matches.
