Simeone Causes a Stir in Press Conference with Very Regrettable Statements: 'We Win...'

The Ridiculous Words Diego Simeone Has Mentioned During a Recent Press Conference

After a long wait, club soccer has finally returned following the players' time with their national teams. With some teams still fighting for titles, Atlético de Madrid is one of them. Before their match against Espanyol, coach Diego Simeone made some controversial statements in a press conference.

"We won against Madrid, then the penalty...ellipsis," were his words to still talk about the past classic. Losing fairly against Real Madrid, Simeone continues to think it wasn't so. Continuing with the falsehood that Atlético de Madrid was superior, Simeone has only made a fool of himself once again.

Unable to let go of a defeat caused by his mediocrity, Simeone continues accusing and attacking a Real Madrid that has already moved on. This has only shown an attitude from Simeone that could be the reason for Atlético de Madrid's lack of competitiveness.

Simeone's Controversy

Once again exciting all his fans this season, Simeone fell again against Real Madrid.  Highlighting his inability to overcome the merengue team, Simeone made a strategy that was harshly criticized. Despite reaching the penalty shootout, Simeone received several criticisms after a new defeat against Real Madrid.

While Real Madrid rightfully won their way to the Champions League quarter-finals, for Simeone it's different. Once again using the disallowed penalty for Julián Álvarez, Simeone has tried to reignite the controversy to divert attention from himself.

Even so, the reality is that Simeone faces a rather complicated situation with an Atlético that has lost the motivation to keep competing. In an attempt to motivate the squad or try to relieve some pressure, Simeone has resorted to a regrettable tactic.

The Only One Responsible Is Simeone

No matter what comments he makes, Simeone remains the main responsible for the debacle against Real Madrid. Once again since his arrival on the red-and-white bench, Diego Simeone has shown himself to be a coach who prefers to talk too much rather than act.
