Siro López reveals why Real Madrid refused to renew Modric, he wanted to stay

Just like last season with Toni Kroos, Madridism will lose a legend like Luka Modric. With the Croatian and Real Madrid publishing the official announcement, Madridism is immersed in sadness over the departure of the midfielder. Despite rumors about a one-year renewal, Real Madrid ended up discarding this operation.

"Madrid wants to renew the team," were the words with which Siro López explained this decision. Making it clear that Real Madrid has deep respect for Modric, the club preferred to take another path. Given the irregular season, Real Madrid seeks to have a new generation of players, leaving Modric out.

"They consider that Modric's stage is over and that new and young people, with more opportunities, must arrive," added Siro López. Through these last words, Siro revealed that, due to the need for young talent, Real Madrid had to say goodbye to Modric.

Few players can boast of having a legacy as great as Luka Modric.  Arriving at Real Madrid in 2012 full of doubts and questions, Modric will leave the club as one of its greatest legends. Despite still having a great level despite his 39 years (39 años), Real Madrid decided it was time to part ways.

As Siro López revealed, Real Madrid has its sights set on signing young talent for the squad. While he could have been a guide, Real Madrid considered that the Croatian could have been an obstacle to the development of the young players.

This is why, after 13 seasons making history with Real Madrid, Luka Modric will say goodbye to the club he loves.  With the match against Real Sociedad still ahead, Real Madrid is prepared to bid farewell to their legend in the best way.

Although Modric's renewal could never be carried out, the reality is that the player has left an unbelievable legacy at Real Madrid. Apart from the titles he won with the club, Modric will leave the team as an example to follow for future generations.
