A22 announces news about the Super League

On Tuesday, A22 announced that it has sent a letter to UEFA and FIFA, as well as to the European Commission. In addition, they also communicated new developments in the format of the competition itself. We are facing the formal step toward its official recognition.

UEFA and FIFA can't refuse to create the Super League, as detailed in the ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).

In fact, the ruling obliges UEFA and FIFA to recognize something that A22 does comply with: "Any competition whose classification is carried out in an inclusive, meritocratic manner and which respects the global calendar."

An improvement in the content of the competition

Following discussions and listening to dozens of clubs across the continent, the Super League format has been improved. The competition will be open to everyone and entry will be on an annual basis and based on merit in the leagues. The proposal is fully in line with UEFA's definition of the 'European Sporting Model'.

Meanwhile, the Super League is now called the Unify League. A22 announced a revolutionary new format with 96 teams from 55 countries in four leagues (Star, Gold, Blue and Union). Entry will be through qualification in domestic leagues and the top division will feature 16 teams with home and away matches.

Its CEO, Bernd Reichart , who has been negotiating with dozens of European teams for months, says he has had "a positive collective reply."

soccer could undergo a dramatic change in the coming months following the announcement of the new Unify League . A22 has made sure to comply with all the rules, so FIFA and UEFA can't do anything to ban this competition.
