Xabi Alonso's changes in the new Real Madrid: no trace of Ancelotti
Xabi Alonso proves not to be like Ancelotti and the changes in the club are evident
Carlo Ancelotti's departure from the white team was a hard blow for those who enjoyed his time with the team. However, now with Xabi Alonso's presence, things have changed radically since his arrival. In this regard, we're referring to the major changes compared to the Italian coach, where they have to arrive earlier for training, these last longer, and there's a daily weight check.
Obviously, this is a radical change for the players that seems to have suited them perfectly. Now, the team is much more focused in terms of performance and this could lead them to win major titles. This is an excellent sign for the fans, who will surely expect results after these radical changes.
Alonso's changes
The arrival of this coach was expected to be different from what we'd already seen, both in philosophy and in results at other clubs. In this case, training sessions went from lasting one and a half hours to lasting at least two hours (1.5 h to 2 h), plus gym work.

In addition, it seems he has established a methodology regarding the footballers' weight, conducting daily checks to keep them in shape. This, combined with the requirement to arrive an hour earlier for training, creates a discipline that perhaps wasn't as strict under Ancelotti. All of this is intended to help the players regain their best level for the season, since the last one was a complete disaster.
Right now, Alonso's main focus is to help the squad recover its level and thus compete for everything possible in the campaign. After the international break, they'll surely be under even more pressure, knowing that the Champions League is about to begin. However, that doesn't seem to stop the Spanish coach; on the contrary, it inspires him to continue with this methodology.
He knows where he's headed
With these changes, he seems to be very clear about where he wants to take the white team and everything that entails. A campaign is very close to starting and it's expected that the club will take a step forward this season and win important things. However, that will depend on how the players approach this new plan and how much they respect it in order to make the most of it.
