It has become quite clear in this Club World Cup that Real Madrid's youth academy has footballers of great stature, such as Gonzalo. In this regard, it seems that several clubs have already started to look directly at the footballer from the white team. However, it appears that this hasn't been the case for Getafe, since Ángel Torres has said this about him: "We've been looking for Gonzalo García for three years; We have the commitment to have him here if he leaves Real Madrid, but we'll see what happens."

Quite surprisingly, they're talking about a possible transfer to the Madrid team right before the semifinals against PSG. Nevertheless, he made it quite clear that it was Raúl who prevented him from leaving and, in the end, it has been quite fruitful: "We wanted him a lot last winter, but Raúl didn't let him go."

Even so, it seems that they're not giving up on the possibility of having this striker among the ranks of the blue team. Although it seems that the white team sees him as a possible addition from the reserve team to the first squad because of his performance in this tournament.

Gonzalo in the spotlight for Getafe

The Madrid team has been one of the most interested in several of the great footballers from the white club's youth academy.  Some even consider it a B team for the merengue squad, since they always end up exchanging footballers.

In this case, they couldn't secure Gonzalo's services, but they're not giving up on the possibility of getting him, especially considering his current performance. However, in the case of the board, it seems that they've become convinced that this player, as well as what Alonso has brought out in him, can be an asset for the season.

He has already scored four goals in this tournament (4), making him the top scorer, in addition to one assist during the process. With a very tough match to solve against Paris Saint Germain, he could be key to finding victory and reaching the final.

It won't be easy

If Getafe want to secure this player's services, they'll have to put money on the table, unless the board wants to let him go. For this reason, it won't be easy at all, especially if he manages to get Madrid into the Club World Cup final.
