Alonso's Leverkusen has been eliminated by a Third Division team and his chances of managing Madrid are fading

Real Madrid still doesn't know what will happen next season with its bench and other similar issues, but what seems increasingly unlikely is that Xabi Alonso will end up at Santiago Bernabéu. At least, for now.

Bayer Leverkusen lost this Tuesday against Arminia Bielefeld -a team from the German Third Division- (2-1) in the semifinals of the Cup, and Alonso is being heavily criticized in Germany, but the worst part is that the balance of this season, which is far from the previous one, could have sentenced him from managing Madrid.

Leverkusen got to work, and Kersken made a save from a header by Bonifae, and Shcik hit the post. But luck was on the side of Arminia Bielefeld, which has Dani Jara as assistant coach.

Loses Points

A defeat for Leverkusen from which Xabi Alonso comes out very harmed, losing points to be Carlo Ancelotti's replacement at Real Madrid. The Italian has a contract in force until 2026, but what will happen with him is an unknown.

In the last few hours, according to journalist Mario Cortegana, Carletto might be considering an exit for next summer, citing the great wear and tear he has after four consecutive seasons. Alonso was an option, but recent events have caused him to lose some momentum.
