This is Alaba's future at Real Madrid, he won't be a starter even with Xabi: 'He...'

The situation the Austrian footballer is going through is starting to become delicate for the club

David Alaba's situation at Real Madrid is somewhat delicate. The Austrian hasn't been the same since he suffered a serious knee injury in December 2023. The club supported him at all times during his recovery phase, but now wouldn't rule out a possible departure.

He's already over the age barrier of 30 and is one of the highest earners in the squad. For this reason, Florentino Pérez would view a hypothetical sale favorably. It would be excellent for freeing up the wage bill, since it would allow the club to save a significant amount of money.

Nevertheless, according to Diario ASthey highlight that the "4" has no intention whatsoever of leaving the club this summer. Not only that, but Bernabéu Digital emphasizes that no offer has arrived for him. Not even from Qatar or Saudi Arabia.

For this reason, as of today, June 16, the normal expectation is that Alaba will fulfill his contract. It ends in 2026 and, in fact, he has every right in the world to do so. However, he won't be important in Xabi Alonso's plans.

It remains to be seen what will ultimately happen with this whole matter. The summer ahead is long and it's possible that some team will become interested in him. After all, he has a reputation and solid experience to attract clubs.

Is he useful?

The sporting management has assumed for some time that Alaba will never be at 100% again. They acknowledge that his best match has already been seen, but they do believe he could be useful at certain moments. No one forgets that the season is long and there are plenty of commitments for everyone.

Xabi Alonso doesn't mind having him in the squad and, if he stays, he'll want to get the most out of him possible. Meanwhile, he continues training with the rest of his teammates and he's fit to contribute in this Club World Cup.
