This is what awaits Real Madrid after the international break
Xabi Alonso's pupils must return to a September packed with matches
The majority of international footballers have already left their clubs, heading to their respective national teams to face the first international break of the season. Not all Real Madrid players, however, have received that call: the Brazilian footballers, as well as the newly arrived Trent Alexander-Arnold, will stay in the Spanish capital this week.
Xabi Alonso's coaching staff will take advantage of these days to start the first training routines ahead of a particularly intense month of September. The 25/26 season is already leaving the first high-demand matches on the Madridist calendar, thanks to the start of the midweek competition par excellence: the Champions League.

The Merengue footballers already know their opponents from the draw held last week, but before they can begin their particular journey toward the sixteenth, there is first a league match. Real Madrid will visit, as its first match after the September international break, the Reale Arena.
This trip to Real Sociedad's stadium will take place next September 13, a match scheduled for 4:15 p.m. Just three days later, Real Madrid will host Olympique de Marseille at Santiago Bernabéu at 9:00 p.m., to kick off its European campaign. The league matches do not stop.
Maximum demand
On the next September 20, a tentative date for now, Xabi Alonso's pupils will play as hosts against Espanyol. On September 23, they will have to travel to Castellón to face the Spanish Mediterranean coast and take on Levante at the Ciutat de València, a stadium that is always challenging for the Merengue expedition.
Four days after that match in the capital of Turia, the first important match in the national competitions arrives: the classic against Atlético de Madrid. That clash at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano is scheduled in principle for next Saturday, September 27, although the dates in the league remain tentative almost until the last minute.

Already in the last week of September, Real Madrid will have to travel far from the Old Continent to face Kairat Almaty. The match against the Kazakh team will take place at the Central Stadium, a circumstance that will wear down the team coached by Xabi Alonso, as it comes right after the Madrid classic played in Coslada.
The last match that Real Madrid must play before the next international break will take place at Santiago Bernabéu. Villarreal will visit the Madridist coliseum, again with a tentative date, on October 5, 2025. It will be at the end of that match when the internationals will meet again with their respective compatriots.
