Tomás Roncero Delivers the Rant of the Century Against Mbappé, Can't Take It Anymore: 'Not Even the Shadow'
The most painful comparison for the Frenchman was made by the journalist after the Arsenal match
The Knockout Between Real Madrid and Arsenal has left several players in the Merengue team under scrutiny. Ancelotti's decisions haven't pleased Madrid fans, who are demanding his position immediately. But Mbappé hasn't fared well either, as he hasn't been at his level.
This is how Tomás Roncero has shown it, who hasn't hesitated to lash out against Mbappé on Cadena SER. He has condemned him by saying that "he doesn't even resemble the shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo." He has been this blunt about the comparison with the Portuguese player.

Roncero hasn't held back in criticizing that "Mbappé isn't living up to what was desired." "He was the heir, the supposed number one in the world, the one who was going to be Ballon d'Or and champion of everything. Cristiano today would have reacted, he doesn't even make gestures, nor did he protest his penalty to the referee," he continued in his comparison.
It should be remembered that many had placed their hopes on the French footballer. They wanted a performance like the one against Manchester City, where he achieved a hat-trick. But at no point has he shown signs of resembling that player who was going to be decisive.
Criticism Came Even After the Match
If Tomás Roncero lashed out at Mbappé during the match, he showed no mercy after it ended. "We thought he was coming to establish what he already was in Paris, the player who won a World Cup and almost another with France," he noted. For now, he seems not to have met expectations.

He again made the comparison between the French player and CR7 and was once again blunt. He stated that "people wanted to see a new Cristiano in Mbappé and he's light-years away. Whoever thought that should forget it, and not in a negative way, Cristiano was at such a wild level that it's absurd."
However, there are reasons to understand what's happening to Kylian in this first season. "It's not that he's not trying, it's that I don't see him as decisive, he seems anxious," Roncero noted. He concluded by saying that "people are telling him that we need him."
