Toni Kroos reveals what the biggest problem was for Ancelotti's Real Madrid

The former Real Madrid footballer analyzed the team's performance after the match in Oviedo

Real Madrid is already preparing to host RCD Mallorca this coming Saturday at Santiago Bernabéu (9:30 p.m.). Under Xabi Alonso's leadership, the white team arrives at a moment of great confidence after a resounding 3-0 victory against Real Oviedo in its last league match. This win, the second consecutive in the competition, reflects the solidity and good form of the Madridist side.

In a recent edition of the podcast "Einfach mal Luppen", which he shares with his brother Felix, Toni Kroos offered his thoughts on Real Madrid's match at Carlos Tartiere. The German, always analytical and direct, didn't hesitate to share his predictions and perspectives on the white team's season.

Toni Kroos believes that the team has "strengthened well" and that "he expects a better season than the previous one". However, the former footballer prefers to be cautious and has issued a warning: "There's room for improvement".

Toni Kroos's words about Xabi Alonso

"A very complete center-back has been signed, strong in the air, fast, and with good distribution from the back. Some young players have also joined; we'll have to see their impact. But I think the season will be better", he explained regarding Real Madrid's signings.

"I think Xabi comes with a different status than Lopetegui. His track record as a player helps, but it doesn't protect him if he doesn't win titles for three years in a row. Trust with the coach matters", Toni Kroos commented when asked about Xabi Alonso.

"It's not always the result, because trust allows you to overcome temporary bad results. Sometimes, coaches are dismissed after four matches. But belief in his ability can give him leeway", he added.

"The perception of the players and team leaders also matters. People usually listen to what the squad thinks about the coach. The way a match is lost also has an influence", the former footballer explained.

A message for Carlo Ancelotti?

Finally, Toni Kroos made it clear that it's still too early to make assessments and that there will be time for that later. "I hope Madrid play better soccer, it's too soon to judge. Last week was a good match, but it's still too early for a final evaluation", he commented.

In addition, the former player left a message that, although it doesn't mention names, can be understood as being directed at Carlo Ancelotti. "The problem last year was that no really strong team was beaten. Now, the intensity of training and internal competition is good, and this dynamic is directly reflected in the team's performance during matches".
