Vinícius, Rodrygo and Militão left out of Brazil's squad
Brazil's coach decides not to draft the white players for the September break
Even though the 25/26 season has just started, elite European soccer teams are seeing their rhythm interrupted due to the first international break of the campaign. As is usually the case, the importance of footballers so far is measured by their chances of being drafted to join their respective national teams.
One of the most notable lists is Brazil. After all, the Canarinha are trying by all means to regain World Cup glory, a goal for which they would have secured the services of Carlo Ancelotti. The Reggiolo coach has joined the South American squad from Real Madrid itself, but his first decisions are as direct as they are surprising.

After all, none of his former verdeamarelo pupils have received the call to leave the Spanish capital during the September international break. The injured Endrick was one of the most notable omissions, given that injury... and the fact that he also hasn't played many minutes in recent months.
But the absence of the rest of the Brazilian players from the list used for the international break is truly striking. Éder Militão, Rodrygo Goes, and Vinícius will stay in Madrid during the two matches the South American squad must play against Chile and Bolivia. The reason Vinícius won't change continents is his suspension against the Andean national team.
None have convinced
Absent from that first match, Carlo Ancelotti would see the presence of the São Gonçalo striker for the second match against Bolivia as unnecessary. The decision made with Éder Militão would have the same nature as the reason that led Xabi Alonso to leave the Carioca center-back on the bench against Real Oviedo.
The fear that Sertãozinho's "3" could suffer another injury now that he seems to be gradually returning to his best level is more than present. The situation with Rodrygo, whose possible departure from Real Madrid was close to becoming a reality during the summer 2025 window, speaks for itself. He also hasn't played all the minutes he should in order to play for Brazil.

Given these circumstances, Carlo Ancelotti decides to leave the four Brazilian Madridists in Santiago Bernabéu locker room. Although it isn't intended that way, Xabi Alonso certainly considers that decision a great advantage. Not only because it avoids the fatigue that such a long round trip in so few days entails.
It is also because it would prevent the proliferation of injuries... and would allow the four verdeamarelo players to keep working with the rest of their non-called-up teammates at the Ciudad Deportiva de Valdebebas. That decision offers more opportunities to polish and improve their performance.
