The African Vinícius that Ancelotti Already Controls, Real Madrid Has a New Diamond

The first team's coaching staff conducts another survey among the Madrid reserve teams in search of established talent

Real Madrid continues with its roadmap for the current and next season. For now, things are not going as many expected, since Ancelotti's pupils are far from retaining an invincibility that many attributed to them last summer.

Ancelotti doesn't miss any detail of all possible ways to expand his team while he is at the helm of Santiago Bernabéu Stadium's home bench. In the absence of transfers until the next summer window, in mid-2025, the only remaining talent pool is La Fábrica.

It is common for the first team coaches to approach the training facilities of Madrid to "promote" the advanced players from their respective reserve teams. Even, in very specific circumstances, they could settle in the first team. The case of Raúl Asencio, now a regular starter alongside Antonio Rüdiger, is one of the clearest.

With Vinícius in mind, Ancelotti has approached Real Madrid C to secure the arrival of Babacar Dioucou. The right winger of this reserve team, established in La Fábrica when he arrived in our country in 2015, hasn't stopped growing at Valdebebas City. His performance in the 2017 LaLiga Promises tournament placed him on the radar of the first team: since then, he has remained a potential candidate for the top Meringue category.

He is on the right track

The case of Babacar Dioucou, whom many in Valdebebas compare to Vinícius Jr., is very special. Because he stands out for the power of his run more than for his acceleration. Which allows him to cover many meters for a long time without getting tired. His great physical records compensate for a certain lack of dribbling, but that important quality in a winger is compensated by a shocking ease for aerial play: he's 5 feet 7 inches (170 centimeters) tall.

Babacar Dioucou has advanced rapidly through all levels of La Fábrica to become a regular at Real Madrid C. The schemes of Álvaro Gómez-Rey always include him, a regularity that has caught Carlo Ancelotti's attention on more than one occasion.

That's why he has been seen in some training sessions with the first team so far this season. Despite this approach to Santiago Bernabéu locker room, his commitments with the second white youth team have prevented him from entering one of the call-ups signed by the Italian strategist. Time will tell.

This "born worker", as defined by the Madrid coaches, has everything to succeed in the first team, but he still must overcome the "trial by fire" that is Real Madrid Castilla. He will also have to wait for a spot to open up in the forward line-up managed by Ancelotti. Something that is not an easy task. But it could happen sooner than it seems according to many market rumors.
