Vinícius unveils his statue in Brazil with a detail no one expected: 'It's very...'

Vinicius Junior unveiled his wax statue yesterday at the iconic Sambódromo in Rio de Janeiro. The sculpture was created by Madame Tussauds.

The Real Madrid footballer himself spoke highly of it and emphasized that he really likes how it turned out.  "I'm very happy to be here with my family, seeing myself in such a special place as the Sambódromo...it's something I've always dreamed of," he said to the media.

He also emphasized that he found it quite similar:  "It looks a lot like me," said the Madridist number 7 with a laugh, who didn't hesitate to highlight what it meant to be there. "My dream was to reach Flamengo, which was already a distant dream in itself, but it was the closest. To get here, to the poor people, from the favelas, where everyone comes to celebrate Carnival."

The Madridist star, who was singled out after PSG's thrashing, keeps recharging and resting ahead of the 25/26 season. In this campaign, he's going to play for part of the future that awaits him at the white house.  The club's top executives hope and desire that he'll step up.

Stalled contract renewal

Vinicius Junior's contract renewal is stalled, according to various news outlets. His current contract ends in 2027 (2027), and the goal at Valdebebas is to renew it until 2030 (2030). However, as of today, July 18, there is no news on the matter, unlike what was desired a few months ago.

Yesterday, Saudi Arabia surprised everyone by reporting that the Saudi investment fund was willing to offer 350 million euros for him. So far, nothing has arrived at Bernabéu's offices, but it's necessary to keep an eye on what happens.
