Vinícius Will Go All the Way, 2 Barça Fans Will Face Consequences for being Racist
Vinícius has decided to continue with legal actions against two Barça fans for racist chants
Vinícius has decided to continue with legal actions against two Barça fans for racist chants. This Thursday, the Real Madrid player testified via videoconference before a court in Barcelona.
The incident occurred during the October 2023 Clásico in Montjuïc. During the game, several racist chants were directed at the Brazilian from the stands.
Vinícius appeared from his lawyer's office in Madrid. In his statement, he confirmed his intention to proceed with the legal process. According to legal sources, this decision is key to advancing the case.
Investigation against the fans
The judge handling the case is investigating two Barça supporters. Both were identified by the Mossos d'Eteamra as responsible for the racist chants.
The stadium cameras and a witness's testimony were crucial in identifying them. A third person involved, a minor, will be investigated in a separate proceeding.
The two fans have already testified before the judge and deny having made the racist chants. However, the video evidence analyzed by the Mossos strengthens the accusations.
Accusations in the process
The Barcelona Hate Crimes Prosecutor's Office, La Liga, and Real Madrid are involved in this case. Additionally, Vinícius acts as a private prosecutor.
The case began thanks to a report from the Mossos d'Eteamra after analyzing the images from the Clásico in Montjuïc.
This is not the only legal process for racist insults against Vinícius. In June 2023, three Valencia fans were sentenced to eight months in prison for racist chants at Mestalla.
Meanwhile, another investigation against four Atlético de Madrid ultras is ongoing. They hung a doll wearing the Brazilian's jersey on a bridge in January 2023.
Vinícius doesn't give up
The Madrid player is determined to fight against racism in football. His stance is firm, and he has the support of Real Madrid and La Liga in this process.
The message is clear: racism has no place in sports, and those who practice it must face justice.
