Vinícius's Reaction to the Boos: Intense Anger and 'Divorce' with the White Fans

The Brazilian footballer posted a striking message on social media

One of the players currently concerning Real Madrid fans the most is Vinícius Jr. The verdeamarelo footballer is having a really discreet 2025 so far, except for some standout performances like the Copa del Rey semifinal return leg against Real Sociedad. Beyond those few matches, his development seems to have stalled considerably.

From the Valdebebas offices, they trust that the São Gonçalo striker will reconnect with his best version in this final stretch of the season. The ideal match to start that dynamic was the Real Madrid-Valencia game last Saturday... a match that Vinícius himself negatively starred in for two reasons.

The first was the missed penalty caused by Kylian Mbappé. Everything pointed to the '9' merengue, who is in the race to win the LaLiga top scorer, as the taker of that penalty. Nothing could be further from the truth: following the order set by Carlo Ancelotti, the carioca winger took on the responsibility and missed from the penalty spot with a truly inexplicable shot.

This circumstance, which was decisive in certifying Real Madrid's defeat, caused some anger among Madrid fans. The white fans expected a reaction from Vinícius, but the white player was far from being decisive and Carlo Ancelotti decided to replace him... perhaps thinking about the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Arsenal.

Bad Moment

Vinícius left his place on the field to Endrick, leaving the Madrid field under a loud booing against him that had a response shortly after that defeat. The merengue striker recalled, on social media, a historic milestone in his personal career: matching the goals scored by Ronaldo Nazário as a Real Madrid footballer.

"It's a special day for me to be able to reach the same goals as my idol Ronaldo, he taught me how to do it when I arrived at Real Madrid as a child", wrote Vinícius. The celebration of this historic milestone comes at a very tough time for the white club: the defeat against Valencia could cost the league title this season.

Vinícius, in addition to that nod to Ronaldo Nazário, recalled that the clash against Valencia had been a "bad match". Far from delving into self-criticism, simply pointing out that "we know where we need to improve", the Madrid '7' preferred to focus on this individual achievement in a post really criticized by Madrid fans.

The high-profile celebration of this record by Vinícius is not a popular gesture with Madrid fans. The white fans left Santiago Bernabéu upset by a defeat that, if the dynamics don't improve, would have meant the definitive distancing from the fight for the LaLiga leadership.
